Wendy in the Kitchen: Homemade Chocolate
I know that in posting this I am stepping on Doris’ area but one look at me and you know I enjoy food. I also enjoy cooking. This following recipe is one that I have used many times and have already made twice this week….and it’s only MONDAY. My teenage sons love it so it can’t be all that bad.
Homemade Chocolate
1 cup icing sugar (powdered sugar)
1 cup powdered milk
3 TBL cocoa powder (I used 2TBL cocoa and 1TBL Milo and will try Nesquik next time)
250g Copha (1/2 a jar Coconut oil…the solid stuff)
Melt Copha and add to dry ingredients. Pour onto parchment lined tray and put in the fridge to set.
OPTIONAL: I have added toasted coconut or even Rice Bubbles. You could add raisins or mini marshmallows….you are only limited by your imagination.
NOTE: I found that the powdered milk over here is very grainy so I put all the dry ingredients into my blender to make it all a little finer (There were no add-ins for this batch). Then I poured the melted oil in and blended it again. The result is a nice creamy chocolate.
Give it a go and let me know what you think of it. Did you use an add-in?

I am so going to try this xo
Luana….Please do and let me know what you think. I have been experimenting and have used strawberry Quik instead of the cocoa. I simply reduced the icing sugar by half and used 3TBL of the strawberry. I then added some mini marshmallows and my boys LOVED it.
I wonder what I can come up with next.
